Week 64- Potrillo

What a wonderful week!

This week we had the opportunity to go to a place called Potrillo which is a small small native village in northern Argentina and do interviews so that they could go to the Temple for the first time.

On Friday we had a very short P day. We filled up the gas tanks, bought some food, wrote our families, and left we left for Ibarreta. Before we got there we passed a roadblock by Aborigines. We got to the the roadblock at 4 and they told us that no one could pass until 6. We decided to try a different route and get past the roadblock by using a dirt road that went through the aborigine village. We successfully passed the roadblock that they put up and continued on our way. We arrived at Ibarreta and continued to Las Lomitas and once we got there we picked up an elder and continued on our way. At 7 at night we arrived at Ingeniero Juarez. The hotel was actually pretty nice and we all got ready for bed.

The next day we woke up and headed off to Potrillo. It was about a two-and-a-half-hour ride to Potrillo and when we got there we were greeted by about 50 members of the church who are aborigines that live there. The two days that we were there we were able to talk with them and I was really humbled by the type of lifestyle that they had to live and the sacrifices that they made not only to live day-to-day but to be members of the church. These people barely have any money and they still give tithing every week. They don't have cars or motorcycles or even bikes yet they some of them walk days to get to church for General Conference. That was a testimony to me of the sacrifice that we can make as members of the church two be disciples of Christ.

On Sunday we we're able to listen to a few testimonies and it was interesting because it was translated from Spanish into their native language, it was a very spiritual sacrament meeting. I loved feeling the spirit that was there. We were able to hand out candy to the children and it was really fun to see how they we're so excited to receive a few pieces of candy. We were also able to play with them and even though we couldn't talk with them because of the language barrier we were able to have a great time with them and laugh and play. When we finally got home on Sunday night we did some work in the office and went to bed.

Monday we had meetings in the office and then went out to teach at night.

Tuesday we did some office work as well and we went to teach some people in the afternoon. In the afternoon we had a missionary that was leaving from this mission to another and he stayed with us.

On Wednesday we went and did multi-zona in Corrientes and taught about finding new ways to teach new ways to find new investigators.

Thursday we did divisions with the Zone leaders and were able to have a few very spiritual experiences with them and with members of the church who we visited.

Hope you have a great week!
