This week has been a great, crazy mess!
On monday I finally got some tools! I got pliers and channel locks, I'm still looking for screwdrivers. Because we are moving out of our pension we have a lot of things to fix! The elders sometime before us ironed on the wood table so we have to refinish the top of it. Oh how I miss the electric sanders haha. But i have a companion and that's almost as good;) The hardware stores definitely aren't Home Depot but you can (usually) get most of what you need. So we picked up stuff for the table and started working on sanding it! I love projects!
Tuesday was mostly spent looking for apartments. We went to one realtor's office and she was showing us this really nice apartment, and then it started looking really familiar..... it was the apartment building of the hermanas, meaning that we definitely couldn't rent there. That was kinda a bummer because they are really cool apartments. We also found a lady who we taught a lesson to and hopefully will turn into an investigator.
A lot of Wednesday was also spent looking for apartments. We found a brand new house that was awesome but a little pricey and ended up not being in the safest part of the city. We also had a lesson with a contact today with a very Catholic lady so we'll see where it goes with her!
Thursday morning we found a great apartment that is in a safe area, cheap, and perfect for our needs. Now we are just waiting for the office to approve it! That night we had a lesson with a member who needed to have the lessons taught to her again and that went really well.
Friday we had a lesson with one of our investigators, Ramon, and it went pretty well. Here it's pretty funny cause the people like to argue about something but are on the same side as you. So we have arguments where everyone is trying to tell the other person the same thing that person already believes! Haha, oh Argentina.
Saturday we spent all day setting up for our capilla abierta, (open house) for the church. It looked really good and that night we had about 30 people (including members and 8 non members) come! We got a few referrals that we'll be contacting this week!
Sunday was cold and rainy which means not very many people come to church. Here in Argentina they have siestas, and Elder Peterson was telling me that when it's cold they sleep cause it's cold, when it's hot they sleep cause it's hot, and when it's just right they sleep cause it's perfect for sleeping haha! So we had a small sacrament meeting and I gave a talk, and then after sacrament meeting two more families came so we had another sacrament meeting for them and I gave a talk again!
