Week 11- I Thought I Got Called to a Warm Mission!

Hola Chamigos!

This week has been highlighted with rain and freezing cold, but we don't let that stop the Lord's work!
Monday was pretty laid back, we just emailed, bought food, and cleaned. We finally got our bread recipe down: 3/8in filtered water in our pot, heat for a minute or two on the stove until slightly warmer than lukewarm, add 50g butter in slices and wait for it to melt, crumble in a half cube of levadura, add in 1 kilo of flour (one package) and stir for a while and then knead. Put in the electric oven a little over the 100 mark for 20 minutes then knead again. put in the gas oven at little less than medium for until they are brown and listo! Super good bread!
Tuesday we went to Curuzu (about an 1.30 away) for district meeting. It was good to have a little time to sleep on the bus and to see some other parts of Argentina! That night we went to Presidents Ramirez's house and put in information on the MLS (because the capilla still doesn't have internet still haha). We also picked up our grocery store, buen gusto, cards and the benefit includes and is limited to a whole 2 percent off!!!
Wednesday was kinda a bummer day and all of our appointments fell through. Thursday we were able to teach two lessons, and one of them had a family that is super awesome! they just need a little more desire. missionaries have taught them for a long time and they pray every day. we just have to get them to feel the spirit and have that desire to go to church, and they also have to get married. Entoces vamos a ver.
Friday was super cold and no one was outside, it was like a ghost town. No one likes to come to their doors when it's cold so another day went by without a lesson but this week we are going to have a bunch of lessons!
Saturday we had a lesson with a contact which was really cool. It was a really fast rundown of the book of mormon but it was great to have that start our day. In the night we went and fixed the hermanas sink, which was a fun project!
Sunday finally one of our investigators came to church! The only thing bad was that she almost had a stroke during class and couldn't stay until sacrament meeting. It kinda reminded me of all of the people in the book of mormon who fainted when they knew the truth haha. That may be bad to think that was ironic but I thought it was. I also taught the gospel doctrine class and it was pretty rough haha.

One thing I learned in scripture study was in Mosiah 7:25
Lots of times in the Book of Mormon and in the Bible it talks about how people were destroyed when the people forgot Jesus and His gospel and were able to defend themselves when they were righteous. I used to think somehow the people were just magically protected when they were righteous but it occurred to me that this isn't how the Lord works. He doesn't just magically protect us or cause us to be destroyed. The protection or lack of comes from the inherent nature of righteousness or wickedness respectfully. When people are righteous, follow the commandments, and live the gospel, they will naturally be more active and healthy, wanting to improve their cities and military tactics, willing to work better together as a people, and be industrious and ready for any attack. Wicked people on the other hand are more content with the way things are, trust in their cities and tactics, are more lazy, eat less healthy, are less active, and are more contentious with each other. In this way, the Lord protects His people.

The Book of Mormon is incredibly amazing. It really can help us in every aspect of our lives! I'm so glad I'm able to share this with people, to help them be happy!
